Our Cairo and Alexandria tour will start with pick up service from your ship terminal in Sokhna port, where our REP will meet you with aboard reflecting your name, then from Sokhna port you will be transferred by private air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo. In Cairo you will be accompanied by private Egyptologist guide and have first step of your Cairo tour to Grand Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the tombs of pharaohs constructed around 5000 years ago and great Sphinx - guard of those tombs, with body of lion and human head. Lunch meal will be served during Cairo tour at a good quality local restaurant. Next sightseeing of your Cairo tour will be the Egyptian Museum with extensive collection of 120000 items of ancient Egyptian antiquities, famous by artifacts of the child king Tutankhamen's tomb, which was found mostly intact. Afterwards transfer to Le Meridien Pyramids hotel for check in and to have rest. In the evening optional tours in Cairo you will be accompanied to attend the fabulous Sound and Light show at Grand Pyramids of Giza or you will be accompanied to board your luxurious Nile cruise ship for dinner, belly dance and oriental show for 2 hours, then you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo for overnight stay.
Have breakfast at your hotel in Cairo, then by private air-conditioned vehicle you will be driven to Alexandria, which was a center of Hellenism in ancient times and also home to the largest Jewish community in the world. There you will start your Alexandria tour by visiting the Catacomb of Kom El-Shoqafa found in 1900, dated from the second century A.D. and unique for their plan and for their decoration which is a mixture of ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman elements. The catacombs are three floors in depth and have numerous chambers cut out along passage ways. Proceed your Alexandria tour to visit the well-preserved Roman Theatre brought to light after 30 years of excavation work underneath a Muslim cemetery. It encompasses galleries, patches of mosaic flooring and marble seats for up to 800 spectators, only amphitheatre in Egypt that was built by the Romans; and 25-meter-high granite Pompey's Pillar was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian in AD 297 and rising from the ruins of the ancient and famous Serapeon. Continue Alexandria tour to Fort Qait Bey built in the fifteenth century on the site, and used some of the stones from the ruins of the famous ancient Pharos of Alexandria, which was built in 279 BC to a height of 125 meters and topped with a statue of Poseidon and destroyed by an earthquake some hundred years previously. Lunch will be served during Alexandria tour in local restaurant, with followed visiting the Library of Alexandria - one of the great cultural centers of the late ancient world and contained thousands of scrolls of Greek, Hebrew and Mesopotamian literature and art and artifacts of ancient Egypt. Continue to visit El-Montazah palace, which finished in a fantastic Turkish-Florentine style by Muhammad Ali in the 19th century and park area covered with palm trees and gazelles. Free time, and then transfer back to your ship terminal in Sokhna port.
